Along with his role in the webtoon, Hangyeom also contributed to the soundtrack! He assisted in composing and writing “STAY WITH ME,””Alone,”and “NEW LIGHT,”while fellow OMEGA X member Jaehan helped write and compose “Improvisation”and “STAY WITH ME.”The latter track was performed by Jaehan, Hwichan, Hangyeon, and Xen, all members of OMEGA X.

This marks Hangyeom’s acting debut, making him the third member of OMEGA X to do so. Previously, Jaehan and Yechan had collaborated with the director of “Jazz for Two”on “A Shoulder to Cry One.”

Congratulations on your first acting role! How does it feel to step out of your comfort zone and take on the challenge of acting?

Thank you for the congratulations! I always find challenges exciting. I believe stepping out of my comfort zone and feeling the anxiety, restlessness, and tension motivate my growth. When I ventured into acting, everything felt brand new, and I realized that it requires just as much imagination as song composition and lyric writing. It was really fun!

Which part of filming “Jazz For Two”did you enjoy the most?

From the drama, my favorite scene was where Do-yoon and Joo-ha reconciled and then practiced playing basketball together while joking around!

Did any members of OMEGA X, who have previously worked with the same director as “Jazz For Two,”offer you any advice for your acting debut?

Jaehan is my roommate in our dorm, and he often helps me with script readings at the dorm, which has been very helpful. I’m also grateful to Hyuk for assisting with script readings!

In addition to your role in the drama, you also contributed to the OST! Which song from the OST album is your favorite?

“NEW LIGHT”is my first solo track in my life. I think the track adds a sweet touch to with its sweet and lively rhythm and melody!

What were your thoughts while writing the lyrics for “STAY WITH ME,””ALONE,”and “NEW LIGHT”?

During the writing process, I put myself in the shoes of each of the four main characters and worked on the lyrics. I spent a lot of time contemplating what emotions each character might be feeling, and how they would view each other with different perspectives.

You collaborated with fellow OMEGA X member Jaehan for “STAY WITH ME.” Can you share your creative process and the emotions you aimed to convey through the song?

I started by writing the lyrics myself and then collaborated with Jaehan to revise and add some new parts. Thanks to this process, I feel like we’ve come up with great lyrics! I wrote them thinking about the characters who will remain unchanged and ‘stay together’ even as time passes!

The team was highly involved in the production of the OST album. It is heartwarming to witness your collaborative efforts extend beyond this project. What is your reaction to having your fellow members lend their voices to the drama you are starring in?

I think the song turned out better than I expected, especially in terms of vocals by Jaehan, Hwichan, and Xen. Jaehan said it was one of the most challenging songs I’ve written, with lots of high notes and intricate details, but all three of them sang it so well that I’m very pleased. Thank you, members! I owe you a meal ️

In the drama, you portray the character Suh Do-yoon. How did you go about preparing for this role? Can you relate to the character in any way?

Do-yoon felt like a reflection of me in my school days, so I drew upon my memories from that time to prepare for the character. I found many similarities in our sociable and cheerful demeanor, such as warmly greeting Se-heon, the new transfer student, without hesitation.

What genre would you like to pursue for your next project after “Jazz For Two”? Is there a particular genre that interests you?

I want to challenge myself by acting in a wide variety of dramas and movies, but I also have a desire to try my hand at theater! I’m willing to explore different genres, but I must admit, I’m most eager to dive into the romantic comedy genre. (Laughs)
