As MYTRO prepares for its exciting debut, the official lineup of members has been revealed, including a pre-debut member from NCT!
On September 13th, SM Entertainment officially introduced its new trot-centered idol boy group, MYTRO.
Their introduction was kicked off with an engaging film and profile photos, finally revealing the faces and names of the members. While the company has promised further information, we have gathered all the details available thus far.
MYTRO, pronounced as “my•tro,”is a five-member group formed by SM Entertainment in collaboration with YamYam Entertainment and TV Chosun. The group’s name signifies “My Trot Revolution Odyssey.”
The members were selected through a reality television program titled “Falling for a trot-dol: Lovestruck Noonas,”which will premiere in October.
This group promises a unique fusion of trot and K-pop, displaying vocals characteristic of trot singers along with idol-style dance performances.
Meet the 5 Members of MYTRO:
Tey
Born in 1992, Han Ji Hyun—popularly known as Tey—is the leader and the oldest member of MYTRO. He was previously a member of the K-pop group Mr.Mr from 2012 until 2018. Tey debuted as a solo artist in 2015 and transitioned into the trot genre by participating in “Mr. Trot 2″in 2020.
Jung Yoonjae
Yoonjae, a 1993-born actor, has appeared in notable shows such as “Missing: The Other Side 2″and “Boyhood.”MYTRO marks his debut in the music and dance scene.
Shohei
Shohei, born in 1996, is the only non-Korean member of MYTRO. He was a part of SMROOKIES and nearly joined NCT Wish, the latest sub-unit of NCT. Unfortunately, he had to leave the pre-debut group due to health issues.
Lim Chaepyoung
Chaepyoung, born in 1997, first gained attention as a YouTuber before competing on “Mr. Trot 2.”
Seo Woohyeok
The youngest member, Woohyeok, born in 1998, initially pursued acting and studied acting before appearing in TV dramas such as “The Glory”and “Death’s Game.”
