Last month, Yoo Ah-in was charged with quasi-rape by the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul. The person making the accusation, known as “A,”alleges that Yoo Ah-in sexually assaulted them while they were sleeping at an officetel in Yongsan District on July 14. As per the current law, sexual assaults involving individuals of the same gender are classified as quasi-rape.

During the reported incident, the only individuals present were the accuser A, the property owner B, and Yoo Ah-in. The police have confirmed that A consistently identified Yoo Ah-in as the perpetrator.

Prior to the incident, Yoo Ah-in and B were said to have been distant acquaintances with no close relationship. According to reports, A informed the police that after having drinks in the vicinity, they relocated to the home of one of the attendees for a second round of drinks. It was at this point that Yoo Ah-in allegedly inserted his private parts into A’s body.

Despite Yoo Ah-in being on trial for habitual drug use, the police intend to thoroughly investigate all potential angles. The initial drug test conducted on A yielded a negative result.

In addition, Yoo Ah-in is currently facing trial for allegedly using medical propofol on more than 181 occasions between September 2020 and March 2022, falsely claiming it was for cosmetic purposes at multiple hospitals in Seoul. The prosecution has asked for a four-year jail term, and the decision for this matter is set to be announced on September 3.
