Ryan Ottley, co-creator of Invincible, has proposed a DC crossover in which Mark Grayson confronts Superman in a battle, along with several other characters.
When it comes to Invincible and the Viltrumites, it is undeniable that they possess the necessary abilities to take on Superman. With their superhuman strength and invincibility, they could engage in a brutal fight, as Ottley elaborates it would be a “bloody competition.”
During a Reddit AMA, a fan inquired about Ottley’s dream team-up or crossover. The co-creator did not disappoint and revealed his desire for an Invincible and DC crossover, earning bonus points for providing exciting details.
According to Ottley, if Superman were to face off against the Viltrumites, it would be an intense and bloody battle. Batman and Lobo would join forces with the Viltrumites and launch a strategic attack to defeat Clark and his fellow Kryptonians. In a desperate move, Clark would even turn to his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor, for assistance. Ottley urges DC not to shy away from this epic showdown.
Invincible, a series beloved by fans of the original comic books, has already encountered familiar faces such as Spider-Man and Batman. With this in mind, the possibility of Ottley’s crossover in the written storyline doesn’t seem far-fetched. This idea is supported by the fact that in the comics, Grayson once expressed disdain for Superman’s codename, further fueling the potential for such a crossover.
Despite the events of Invincible Season 2, it was evident that Mark had yet to tap into the full potential of his Viltrumite abilities. This was made clear during his intense confrontation with Angstrom Levy in the finale, where he unleashed a brutal display of power.
The evidence showed that Mark has been holding back, reluctant to fully embrace his true identity like his father. However, it cannot be denied that Grayson possesses enough strength to challenge Superman.
Hopefully, with the release of Invincible Season 3, fans will witness the full extent of Mark’s powers as he embarks on a new stage of his heroic journey and dons a new suit.
