The individual who leaked the number of NCT’s Renjun has responded to the statement released by both the idol and SM Entertainment.

On June 21, SM Entertainment issued a statement regarding the individual whose number was exposed. Earlier, NCT member Renjun had revealed the number on Bubble, alleging that the person was a sasaeng fan attempting to contact them.

Upon learning of the individual’s complaint to the police, SM Entertainment promptly expressed their apologies through the investigating officer and removed Renjun’s post, as stated in their statement.

The fans were requested to refrain from contacting the individual and were assured that this would not occur in the future.

“Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

On June 20, Renjun mistakenly identified an unknown caller as a sasaeng and revealed their phone number on a fan communication platform. We sincerely apologize to the individual affected by this incident.

Upon being informed that the affected person had contacted the police, we immediately expressed our apologies to the investigating officer and removed the message. We are committed to preventing any further harm and urgently request that no one contacts the affected individual.

Renjun is deeply reflecting on his hasty actions, and we also apologize for our shortcomings in managing the situation. We are truly sorry for the distress caused to the affected individual and everyone else involved.”

After the post was made, the person impacted promptly went to their profile on X (previously known as Twitter) to express their feelings.

After sharing screenshots of SM Entertainment’s statement, the question was raised as to why the company chose to apologize through an article instead of reaching out to them directly.

In a separate tweet, it was mentioned that they had received a message from the investigation officer the previous day around 8-9 PM. They were informed that SM Entertainment’s legal team had expressed their desire to contact them and offer an apology.

They provided their number, but mentioned that they had not received any communication from them since.

Despite being criticized by Korean netizens, Renjun’s refusal to apologize directly to the involved party has sparked backlash. Many have taken to mocking SM Entertainment’s crisis management, arguing that Renjun’s silence has only exacerbated the situation.
