Irate Escape from Tarkov Players Cause Chaos in Community Discord Due to New PvE Mode

Fans of Escape from Tarkov are expressing frustration towards developer Battlestate Games following the announcement of a new edition, complete with a new mode and a hefty price tag of $250. Many players feel that they should receive this update for free as they have already purchased the season pass.

Those who bought the previous Edge of Darkness Edition were guaranteed access to future DLC content through the season pass. The community believes that the new Unheard Edition, with its high cost, perceived pay-to-win elements, and addition of a new PvE mode, can also be considered DLC.

Following the announcement, numerous bots flooded Battlestate Games’ community Discord with repeated messages in retaliation for the “selfish”and “disrespectful”decision, causing disruption for Escape from Tarkov players. These bots were found to be spamming the same message repeatedly.

“Since 2016, players have been showing their support for the developers by purchasing the highest edition of the game. For 8 years, we have been enthusiastically recommending this game to our friends, gradually growing the community. However, the developers’ response has been disappointing. They have ignored our concerns, refused to comment, and only seem to encourage those who have lost all self-respect and continue to pour money into the game. As someone who had high hopes for Tarkov, I am deeply disappointed.”

According to multiple new members of the Discord, who are presumed to be bot accounts, the product was once seen as high-quality and ambitious compared to others on the market. However, their recent actions have been deemed unacceptable, selfish, and disrespectful, leading to a loss of loyal players and a betrayal of the product’s original idea. This behavior has been met with disgust and those who share the same sentiment are encouraged to speak out through spam, memes, and spreading the word. It is imperative that this behavior is not tolerated.

The developer has addressed the outcry through its community manager on Discord and has restricted access to most of the chats on the server.

“According to Daniel Mavlyuberdinov, Lead Community Manager at BSG for Escape from Tarkov, DLC refers to extra downloadable content. PvE is both a feature and game mode, and its inclusion as a DLC is not guaranteed. It is a prominent game mode in the new edition of the game.”

The subreddit for Escape from Tarkov is filled with numerous negative posts regarding the new edition. The moderators of the forum have even made an exception to their rule against reposts specifically for this topic.

“We, the mod team, share the same frustration as you do about this situation. Initially, we enforced rule 8, but after an internal vote, researching the new edition, and discussing it, we have all come to the conclusion that it is unfair. Feel free to express your complaints, as it is a pay-to-win and a betrayal of the trust and support players have shown towards this game over the years,”they stated.

Currently, Battlestate Games has not responded to the community’s concerns beyond the comments made by the community manager.
