Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth finally arrives on February 29 to continue the story started by Remake, but will there be a demo to allow fans to test the new mechanics? Here’s everything we know.
In recent years, there have been plenty of reasons for Final Fantasy players to get excited. Final Fantasy 16 was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2023, and FF14 continues to receive regular updates, with the Dawntrail expansion still to come.
And now, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is getting closer and closer and is shaping up to be one of the most important titles of 2024, continuing the story of Cloud and his team.
But will there be a demo to let newcomers try out 2020’s Remake sequel before purchasing it?
Here’s everything we know about a possible Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo.
Will there be a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo?
Square Enix has yet to announce whether a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo will be released, although we think it’s highly likely based on the publisher’s track record with major releases in its flagship RPG series.
A PlayStation State of Play has been announced for February 6, which should provide a lot of information on FF7 Rebirth.
Additionally, PlayStationSize ‘s X/Twitter account also shared that players will receive an exclusive reward for the full game if they play the demo. With that in mind, we expect a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo to hit the PlayStation Store shortly after this event ends.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake had received a playable demo, as had the last two main games in the series, Final Fantasy 15 and 16. It remains to be seen what a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo would look like, but it would likely be a little excerpt from the start of the game.
However, this still remains speculation until Square Enix officially confirms that a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo is on the way.
