The Boruto manga series contains many enigmatic elements that fans eagerly strive to unravel, trying to piece together the plot as it unfolds. As the manga chapters are released monthly, enthusiasts often turn to social media platforms such as X to exchange theories and make predictions about the future direction of the story.
Despite the abundance of theories circulating online, one in particular has captured the interest of the fanbase. According to this theory, the fate of the protagonist has been hinted at by a specific character in the anime adaptation. It should be noted that the episodes mentioned in relation to this theory are filler episodes and do not align with the canonical storyline.
Some fans speculate that Studio Pierrot could have collaborated with the writers and used a filler episode to hint at Boruto’s future.

Boruto’s Future Possibly Hinted at by Kagemasa in the Anime
Gongoro Kamakura, a retired shinobi, portrayed the popular character Kagemasa, who was known for his functional abilities. Kagemasa was adored by fans, and the use of a real shinobi in his fight scenes added to his appeal. Despite his changing appearance due to overeating, Kagemasa quickly regained his form and remained a beloved entertainer in the village of Konohagakure.
The core structure of the theory was ultimately formed by a few similarities between Kagemasa and Boruto. One of the first parallels depicted in the manga was when Kagemasa utilized a technique that resembled the Gentle Fist, which is a martial art form that the protagonist’s mother, Hinata Hyuga, was skilled in.
Despite not being explicitly mentioned in the anime, it was believed by fans that Kagemasa possessed proficiency in Kenjutsu, a martial art focused on sword fighting. The main character also honed his skills in this form of combat through the guidance and teachings of his mentor, Sasuke Uchiha.
Kagemasa was not a conventional hero who fought on the front lines, instead he lived and fought in the shadows for the sake of his people. This aspect of his character closely resembles the protagonist in the manga series. However, after Eida assisted Kawaki and changed their roles, Kagemasa was forced to become a fugitive. As a result, he had to flee his village and continue helping its people from the shadows while being hunted down by Konohagakure.
The central idea of the theory revolves around Kagemasa’s eye, which grants him the extraordinary ability to temporarily pause time. With the introduction of the concept of Shinjutsu, or divine abilities, in the series, manipulating time is now considered a plausible reality. The parallels between Kagemasa and the new character have been firmly established, leading fans to speculate that the protagonist may possess the same time-manipulating powers.
The Jogan has the potential to grant Boruto the ability to temporarily halt the passage of time, potentially making him one of the most powerful characters in the series. It is speculated that this capability may be introduced in the upcoming Two Blue Vortex manga chapters, possibly as a Shinjutsu technique. However, we advise the fanbase to await the release of these chapters before fully accepting this theory.
