Fortnite’s beloved OG mode has made a grand return, thanks to a recent update, but does this revival include the much-requested Duos feature? Here’s everything players need to know.
On December 6, Epic Games reintroduced Fortnite’s OG mode, featuring its original Season 1 Battle Pass offerings and loot pool. This nostalgic mode allows players to “relive OG seasons” through map updates reminiscent of gameplay from 2017 to 2019.
Unlike the temporary iterations of the OG mode seen in Chapter 4, this classic version aims to provide a long-term experience for fans. However, some players may feel that the initial launch lacks certain gameplay options.
Is There a Duos Option in OG Fortnite?
Upon the launch of the OG mode on December 6, players currently cannot engage in Duos or Trios. At this time, matches are limited to Solo or Squad formats only.
Interestingly, previous communications from Epic Games hinted at the potential inclusion of Duos and Trios. According to HYPEX, mentions of these modes were removed in the lead-up to the launch, leaving only Solos and Squads in their official announcements.
Will Fortnite OG Add Duos in the Future?
As it stands, Epic Games has not provided any official confirmation regarding the addition of a Duos option in the OG mode in the future. Historically, the Duos game mode wasn’t introduced until about a month post-launch in 2017, suggesting developers could be taking a measured approach.
Notably, reputable Fortnite leaker JorgeMost has asserted that both Duos and Trios modes are expected to be integrated into Fortnite OG eventually. However, the timeline remains uncertain.
In the meantime, players can anticipate exciting updates as the first season of Fortnite OG unfolds. For instance, a Ranked mode is slated to enhance player experience in the coming weeks.
Should the Duos feature be confirmed, we’ll ensure to keep this post updated and informative.
