Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has finally been released on PlayStation 5, but will PC players be able to enjoy the new chapter of Cloud’s adventure? Here is all the info.
After four years of waiting since the last game, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is finally available on PlayStation 5.
The second title in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy was released exclusively for PS5 on February 29, 2024, receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews and delighting fans of the original and its reimagining.
With all the hype surrounding the game, PC gamers may be wondering if and when they will be able to get their hands on the game.
Here is everything we know about the possibility of a port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC.
Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have a PC release?
So far, a PC port for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has not been officially announced. Square Enix stated that the game would remain a PS5 exclusive until at least May 29, 2024.
For context, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released on April 10, 2020 on PS4 and did not have a PC release until December 16, 2021. This was also six months after the launch of Intergrade for PS5, which served as a port and next-gen expansion of the original.
Likewise, fans are still waiting for a PC port of Final Fantasy 16 after its release on June 22, 2023.
Based on this, players will likely have to wait at least a year for a PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to be released. However, this might be for the best, as the PC release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was initially criticized as being the worst “AAA”port ever made, although it is now considered quite solid.
