To ensure optimal performance across all devices, Fortnite frequently undergoes maintenance, which may result in the servers being temporarily offline. You can find the current Fortnite server status below.
Fortnite, the popular free-to-play Battle Royale game, is played by millions across the globe every day and receives regular updates. Each week, developers release at least one significant patch or content update.
While scheduled maintenance and downtime are typically announced in advance, sudden server crashes, unexpected downtime, urgent hotfixes, and other issues can lead to the game unexpectedly becoming unplayable.
Fortunately, we can monitor all aspects of the game through the developer’s status page and plugin, which offers live updates on all Fortnite services and tracks any reported or past issues.
Is Fortnite down right now?
Iron Man’s Mark 45 skin and mythic items have been introduced with the 31.20 update.
Currently, Fortnite’s servers are live and functioning without any issues. The freshly released 31.20 update for Chapter 5 Season 4 is now available, and players can access the game as services are back online. The downtime was efficiently handled and lasted approximately 1-2 hours.
This update introduced Iron Man and his Mark 45 suit skin, new Combat Kit and Flight Kit mythics, and the return of the Stark Industries Energy Rifle. The beloved Marvel character also comes with his own Story Quests, a new landmark, and additional cosmetics.
In addition, the much-anticipated Doom’s Henchmen and Allies of the Avengers Limited Time Mode (LTM) has been added to the game. This mode is touted as “the ultimate battle between good and evil,” where up to 32 players face off in two separate teams.
Moreover, LEGO Fortnite has undergone a substantial update as part of the 31.20 patch, dubbed Lost Isles. This update introduces the character Klombos, along with new biomes, items, and decorations. Players will also find a new LEGO Pass that allows them to progress through tiers and unlock various Peely-themed rewards.
How to check Fortnite Server Status
To check the server status, visit Epic Games’ official site. As of now, the servers are operational. They were previously down for the rollout of Chapter 5 Season 4’s 31.20 patch update.
If the service is marked as Under Maintenance in blue, it indicates ongoing issues that could affect your gameplay experience. Conversely, if it reads ‘Operational’ in green, the services are functioning normally.
When issues arise or downtime occurs, these will be noted clearly. You can click the plus sign next to ‘Fortnite’ for more details on specific services, such as game parties, voice chat, stats, and more.
When will Fortnite servers be back up today?
The Fortnite servers are now up and available for players. Epic Games indicated that downtime for the 31.20 update began at 4 AM ET, with matchmaking ending shortly before that.
Despite this being a major patch packed with content for both the main Battle Royale modes and LEGO Fortnite, the downtime concluded at 5:30 AM ET. This was much quicker than previous content updates this season, which often faced delays lasting significantly longer.
It’s worth noting that during the downtime for any Fortnite update, players can download and install the patch in advance to minimize delays when the servers go live again.
