Despite being an indie-darling, Hades 2 has garnered a lot of hype for its release in early access. However, the question remains: how does it fare on the Steam Deck?
After an initial release with tremendous fanfare, Hades 2 has now arrived on Steam in early access. Despite the lack of a confirmed release date, countless fans are already diving into Supergiant’s newest offering.
Can You Play Hades 2 on Steam Deck?
As of its Early Access release on May 6, 2024, Hades 2 has been verified as compatible with the Steam Deck.
Despite the verification, it is evident that Hades 2 was already a perfect fit for the Steam Deck. This is due to its minimal system requirements, which are surprisingly low for a modern game. With the Steam Deck’s high capabilities, it can easily run the game on its highest settings.
Throughout its Technical Test, the Steam Store page for Hades 2 indicated that it was compatible with both Windows and SteamOS. This suggests that Supergiant Games had planned for Hades 2 to be compatible with the Steam Deck from the beginning.
It was unexpected that the early access release of Hades 2 coincided with the Steam Deck verification for the first Hades game. This means that those who have not yet played the first game can now do so on the Steam Deck.
Unfortunately, Hades 2 is not currently available for consoles. The game is currently only scheduled for release on PC, with no release date for consoles announced yet. However, fans can anticipate further updates on console availability in 2025.
