Speculations about several major cameos have been circulating ever since the announcement of Deadpool & Wolverine. However, we can now either confirm or deny a significant piece of gossip – that Henry Cavill will portray a Wolverine variation in Deadpool 3.
The previous Deadpool films were known for their numerous surprise guest appearances. However, if the rumors are to be believed, Deadpool & Wolverine could take the cameo count to an even higher level.
There have been discussions about Lady Deadpool, updates on Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, rumors about Spider-Man, and a potential link to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
But what about Henry Cavill? Fans speculate that the actor, who was previously known for his role as Superman, may make an appearance in Deadpool 3 as a Wolverine alternate. Well, here’s the inside information, so Beware of spoilers …
Henry Cavill’s Role in Deadpool 3 Explained
It has been confirmed that Henry Cavill will portray a Wolverine-inspired character in Deadpool 3.
According to producer Wendy Jacobson, certain rumors about cameos were intentionally spread by the filmmakers as a means of deception in order to maintain secrecy. However, it appears that the speculation surrounding Cavill’s involvement was actually accurate.
Despite fans’ hopes for a lot of Super-Wolverine action, Cavill only makes a brief appearance in Deadpool 3.
What does he do?
In search of Wolverines, Deadpool crosses the multiverse and encounters Cavill, who he hopes can replace the deceased Logan from the Fox universe and prevent his own world from disappearing.
During his journey, he meets several Wolverines, none of whom are very welcoming. Interestingly, all of them are portrayed by Hugh Jackman, except for one.
Despite our lack of knowledge about Cavill’s Wolverine, when Deadpool stumbles upon him, he is busy tinkering with his motorcycle and smoking a cigar. In Deadpool’s opinion, he embodies the “full package.”
As Wade turns around, he is shocked to see Henry Cavill as Wolverine. He exclaims, “The legends were true!”However, Cavill’s version of Wolverine is not interested in conversing. He sternly tells Wade to leave before forcefully pushing him against a wall. This is the last we see of him.
Will he play Wolverine ever again?
Despite his appearance in Deadpool 3, it is likely that Henry Cavill’s Wolverine variant will survive and potentially make a return in a future movie.
The cameo, much like John Krasinski’s portrayal of Reed Richards in the last Doctor Strange, is primarily intended as a joke and fan service. As a result, it is likely to remain a one-time gag.
Regardless, Henry Cavill has officially become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
