Is Hilary Swank in Cobra Kai Season 6?

Although The Next Karate Kid was instrumental in launching the career of Oscar-winner Hilary Swank, she did not return to her role in the first five seasons of Cobra Kai. Will this change in Season 6?

Despite spanning four films, the original Karate Kid franchise experienced diminishing returns, with each subsequent entry being slightly worse than the previous one.

The last installment of the Miyagi version of the franchise, The Next Karate Kid, was released in 1994 and received a low Rotten Tomatoes rating of only 7%.

Despite the fact that characters from the first three Karate Kid films have already made appearances in the Netflix series Cobra Kai, fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of Hilary Swank to reprise her role in the show’s final season.

Is Hilary Swank the Actor for Julie Pierce in Season 6 of Cobra Kai?

Despite the absence of Hilary Swank as Julie Pierce in Part 1 of Cobra Kai Season 6, there are indications that she may make an appearance in either Part 2 or Part 3.

In Part 1 of Cobra Kai Season 6, our recap covers all five episodes, but there is no indication of Swank’s character nor any reference to Julie Pierce.

Although, as the show explores the mystery surrounding Mr. Myagi’s box, a clue is revealed that could potentially tie the character to the events of Cobra Kai.

In The Karate Kid Part II, it is revealed that Daniel’s mentor’s full name is Nariyoshi Miyagi, which is also engraved on his tombstone when Daniel pays his respects at his grave in Cobra Kai.

The box includes a news clipping detailing a crime committed by an individual named Kesuke Miyagi, along with a passport bearing the face of Mr. Miyagi but bearing the name Kesuke Miyagi.

Daniel speculates that his former friend may have changed his identity to start fresh and leave his past behind, although this is still just a theory in the ongoing events of Cobra Kai.

It is noteworthy that while attending an event to honor his WWII battalion in The Next Karate Kid, Mr. Miyagi is referred to as Kesuke Miyagi!

It is possible that the filmmakers did not intend to foreshadow Cobra Kai, which was released 30 years later, making this a continuity error. However, the creators of the Netflix series have decided to use this mistake to add intrigue to Miyagi’s past.

However, this also establishes a direct link between the events of Cobra Kai and The Next Karate Kid, potentially paving the way for a return of Hilary Swank as Julie Pierce.

When questioned about the possibility of seeing that happen at a screening this week, Ralph Macchio, known for his role as Daniel LaRusso, expressed to EW his interest, stating, “Who wouldn’t want to see that? It would be an intriguing addition.”

Despite not explicitly confirming it, this statement implies that Swank will likely appear in either Part 2 or Part 3 of Cobra Kai, or possibly in the upcoming Karate Kid movie set to release in 2025.
