Is Hiromi Higuruma’s Fate Sealed in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jujutsu Kaisen manga is approaching its conclusion, prompting discussions about the fate of fan-favorite character Hiromi Higuruma, who was involved in the Sukuna raid.

In the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, the final antagonist Ryomen Sukuna faces off against the main characters. Following Gojo’s death, Yuji and Higuruma join the fray. Higuruma was introduced during the Culling Games Arc as an adversary but quickly switched sides to ally with the sorcerers.

Prior to the climactic battle, the sorcerers strategized on utilizing Higuruma’s Executioner’s Sword. In just two months after awakening as a sorcerer, Higuruma exhibited skills comparable to Satoru Gojo’s. Nevertheless, he proved no match for the King of Curses, recognized as a force of nature.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 247, Higuruma experiences a severe assault from Sukuna and entrusts his Executioner’s Sword to Yuji. The emotional gravity of Higuruma’s expressions and his last words draw significant parallels to the death of Nanami. Warning: This article contains major spoilers from the forthcoming Chapter 269!

Although Chapter 247 hinted at his demise, the upcoming Chapter 269 uncovers a surprising revelation. After losing consciousness, Ui Ui and Kirara transport Higuruma to Shoko, the top Reverse Cursed Technique user among the sorcerers.

While Higuruma is not fully healed and has a bandage on his arm, he is out of immediate danger. In Chapter 269, as the sorcerers reflect on the battle’s consequences, Higuruma reappears, claiming that Sukuna was merely toying with him and that the confrontation would have been more serious if Yuta had participated.

He asserts that Sukuna would have incapacitated all sorcerers on sight rather than playing with them. Higuruma also notes that Inumaki’s Cursed Speech is a straightforward counter, and he devised the strategy of using the voice recorder. Kusakabe remarks on how noteworthy it is that Higuruma survived the conflict, especially considering his relatively recent emergence as a sorcerer.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is set to conclude soon, so stay tuned for information on the release date of the final chapter.
