The OnePlus 7 Pro has been out since the summer of 2019. This is its fourth year on the market. The most expensive version of the 7th generation model was made by Chinese mobile giants, who were able to make a great device that met the needs of a wide range of customers.
But in the mobile business, four years is a long time, and time does change things. When someone buys a flagship, the device loses its usefulness more slowly because it usually has better specs to begin with. It also doesn’t mean that the status of a certain mode in 2019 will be the same as it is in 2023.
In terms of specs and optimizations, there are other phones on the market that are better than the OnePlus 7 Pro. With the 11th generation coming out in February, there will soon be a new set of options. There are still some good reasons for a buyer to choose the Pro version of the 7th generation.
In 2023, it might be a great deal to get the OnePlus 7 Pro at a big discount.
Flagships are usually a double-edged sword because they cost a lot of money but have the best equipment. Only after a few years, when brands start giving discounts, do current flagships tend to become more affordable. But because they have good hardware, the drop in performance is often less noticeable.

When it comes to specs, the OnePlus 7 Pro can compete with the best on the market in a few key areas. The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen has HDR 10+ and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It leads to amazing results. It has a pixel density of 516 ppi and can handle resolutions up to 1440×3120. The results are stunning. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 covers the whole panel, making it very safe in case it falls by accident.
When the model came out, it was one of the fastest and most smooth-running phones on the market. Even by today’s standards, the Snapdragon 855 works well, so gaming or switching between tasks shouldn’t be a problem.
Users can add up to 12 GB of RAM if they want to keep the relatively old processor running. Depending on their needs, buyers can choose between 128 and 256 GB of storage.
Back in 2019, the model stood out because it had a lot of depth when it came to photography. OnePlus made sure that the camera on the OnePlus 7 Pro will be just as good as it has been in the past few years. The model has always had a good photography setup, whether it was because of the different kinds of camera lenses or the sensors.
The device has a 4,000 mAh battery and can be charged with a 30W cable. This model doesn’t have a way to charge wirelessly, which is a feature that’s been added to newer models.
Does it make sense to buy it in 2023?
It might not make much sense to buy a device that is four years old but has the latest versions. But the OnePlus 7 Pro isn’t like other phones. In fact, it used to be one of the best flagships.
The processor and camera can easily meet the needs of the average user. One of the most powerful Android processors ever made is the Snapdragon 855. Recent top-of-the-line models have better camera sensors, but this one still has better processing than the cheaper ones.
When it first came out, the OnePlus 7 Pro cost $669, but now you can get it for a lot less. It can be hard to find a used model because it has been out of production for a long time. But getting a brand-new device at a big discount is much better than getting a cheap one. Even though it is four years older than the other, it will still be better.
