Dark/Steel-type Pokemon Kingambit is a formidable force in the mainline games; however, players of Pokemon Go will have to be patient as the Gen IX creature is not yet available.
The introduction of the ninth generation of Pokemon brought a new development to the Pawniard evolution line. In the Scarlet & Violet games, players can now obtain Kingambit, the evolved form of Bisharp. However, obtaining Bisharp can be challenging due to the specific requirements for evolution.
Despite this, players who have acquired a Kingambit in Scarlet & Violet will be aware of its strength as both a physical attacker and defender in the Dark/Steel type. The question remains, however, if this creature is currently available in Pokemon Go.
Trainers should be informed about the current state of Kingambit in the mobile game.

Kingambit’s Status in Pokemon Go
As of July 2024, Kingambit remains unavailable in Pokemon Go.
Pawniard and Bisharp, Kingambit’s two pre-evolution forms, have been available in Pokemon Go for quite some time. In 2020, during a Team Rocket Takeover event, Pawniard was introduced to the game through Strange Eggs as a Dark/Steel-type.
The release of both Pawniard and Bisharp marked a significant update, but Kingambit was not yet introduced at that time. This Pokemon was only added in 2022 with the release of Generation IX, and it evolves from Bisharp in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet games as a Dark/Steel-type.
At Scarlet & Violet, Bisharp can be evolved into a Kingambit by defeating three other Bisharp that possess the Leader’s Crest.
In the wild, defeating a Bisharp surrounded by Pawniard is a simple method to acquire it. However, in Pokemon Go, wild encounters operate differently as one can catch a wild Pokemon without weakening it. If Niantic were to introduce Kingambit, they would need to implement unique measures to make obtaining it a special experience.
