Is Spectre Divide Coming to Console?

Spectre Divide has recently entered closed beta on PC without any prior announcement, but will it be available on console in the near future? Here’s what we currently know.

On August 1, with the assistance of Shroud, who played a key role in its development, Mountaintop Studios officially announced the release of Spectre Divide to the public.

For the past two years, a 3v3 defusal tactical FPS with a unique body-swapping feature has been in development, garnering the attention of many fans of Shroud.

Despite the ongoing closed beta on PC, many are curious about the potential console release of Spectre Divide. Here’s what information we have on the subject.

Spectre Divide Console Plans

Indeed, they are in the process of creating a console version of Spectre Divide, but it is not yet ready for release as they are currently prioritizing the development of the PC version.

The developers stated on their Discord channel’s FAQs page that they will initially release the game for PC, but have plans to release versions for consoles and add controller support after the initial launch.

Spectre Divide’s console port isn’t coming out anytime soon

This also implies that if you prefer using a controller, you will have to wait some time after the full game is released for controller support to be added.

As for the official release date of Spectre Divide, it remains unknown as Mountaintop Studios has not announced a date for the game’s full launch.

Moreover, for those wondering about the availability of Spectre Divide on Mac or Linux, it is currently only compatible with Windows.

For the foreseeable future, Spectre Divide will only be available for PC. As seen with the lengthy porting process for games like Valorant, it could potentially take several years for a console version to be released.
