Black Myth: Wukong is a relatively straightforward game, however, there are hidden quests scattered throughout its world that can easily go unnoticed. Among these quests is one involving an NPC known as Man-In-Stone.
After encountering this NPC and completing their quest, you will gain access to a new Transformation spell and the ability to purchase items, including the Gold Ridge Beast. This powerful creature is available for a hefty price of 12,800 Will in the early stages of the game, but it can also be traded for valuable items.

Should you purchase the Gold Ridge Beast in Black Myth: Wukong?
Avoid purchasing the Gold Ridge Beast.
The reason for this is that the Man-In-Stone NPC is a scam and the item serves no purpose other than being sold at a shop. It is similar to worthless bits of gold that can only be traded for Will.
Gold Ridge Beast is an item in Black Myth: Wukong.
Moreover, the Gold Ridge Beast can be sold for 6,000 Will. This will result in a loss of 6,800 Will, which can be utilized for enhancing your armor or creating a new weapon. However, once you progress to Chapter 3, the cost of a new weapon will exceed 20,000 Will, therefore, it is advisable to save the Will for future use.
How to Complete the Man-In-Stone Quest
This quest can be found in Yellow Wind Ridge and is relatively small. To successfully finish it, follow these steps:
Step 1: Reach the Rockrest Flat Shrine
First make your way to Rockrest Flat Shrine.
This Shrine is considered to be one of the most significant in Yellow Wind Ridge.
The Shrine can be found to the right of the Stone Vanguard boss arena, and it is also the closest one to the Drunken Pig side quest.
Step 2: Defeat the Mother of Stones
Defeat the Mother of Stones.
From the Rockrest Flat Shrine, make your way back and enter the cave. Continue straight until you reach a fork in the path. Take the path on the right, then continue forward and turn left. Here, you will encounter the Mother of Stones boss. This boss is relatively easy as it remains stationary and does not attack.
Alternatively, a small number of minions will appear that you can eliminate before facing the boss. After defeating the boss, you will obtain an item known as the Stone Essence.
Step 3: Find the Man-In-Stone

After defeating the boss, make your way back and continue walking straight into the dark cave. Keep going until you reach the end of the road, and then make a sharp right turn.
From this point, continue walking in a straight line until you reach the dead-end. Then, make a right turn and keep moving. You will soon see a drop on your left side.
If you move to the left, you will hear a voice calling out to you. If you drop down, you will come face to face with the Man-In-Stone.
Step 4: Defeat the Man-In-Stone boss
Defeat the Man-In-Stone boss.
After encountering the Man-In-Stone, it will request that you defeat the boss you have already encountered. Once the conversation concludes, you may then give it the Stone Essence.
Despite realizing it was a fraud, it begins to mock you for your gullibility. Once struck, the boss fight will commence. Fortunately, it is a simple mini-boss that you can easily defeat.
Step 5: Get access to Azure Dust
Azure Dust is a powerful Transformation.
Upon successfully defeating the boss, you will receive a powerful new Transformation spell called Azure Dust. Additionally, the Man-In-Stone transforms into a merchant. By resting at a Shrine and returning, you will have the opportunity to purchase various items from the Man-In-Stone, including the highly coveted Stone Ridge Beast for Will.
The Man-In-Stone offers more than just the Gold Ridge Beast and the Transformation. In fact, there are other valuable items to be obtained from completing the quest. We highly suggest taking the time to do so.
