Is the Kar98k, a classic rifle and one of the most iconic weapons in Warzone history, finally making a comeback to the game after a prolonged absence?
Despite conflicting opinions, many Warzone fans have distinct recollections of the Kar98k’s dominance in the game. Originally a beloved Marksman Rifle on Verdansk, it continued to reign supreme in the Sniper Rifle category during the Vanguard era on Caldera.
With the return of Rebirth Island in Warzone Season 3, fans are questioning whether the Kar98k will also be making a reappearance.
Is the Kar98k Returning in Warzone?
The Kark 98k is not expected to make a comeback in Warzone at this time. The developers have already announced all of the new weapons for Season 3 and the popular Sniper rifle is not among them. They have not shared any information about future updates beyond Season 3.
As the Kar made its name on Rebirth Island, players were hopeful that the OG Resurgence map would also make a return in Season 3. This speculation was fueled by the official Call of Duty social media accounts responding to clips of the Kar98k on Rebirth.
It was later revealed that the intention behind this was to bring back the map itself rather than the beloved weapon. As a result, the MORS Sniper Rifle from Advanced Warfare was the chosen addition to the lineup.
Although the Kar98k may not currently be available in Warzone, it is important to note that this does not mean it will never make a comeback. The developers are known for incorporating elements from the game’s past, including fan-favorite maps, Operators, and weapons that may have been temporarily removed.
Speculations suggest that Verdansk will continue to be the battleground for the battle royale mode in the upcoming CoD 2024, making it a perfect opportunity to reintroduce some classic weapons. Furthermore, with ongoing updates in the MW3 era, it is highly likely that the new CoD installment could potentially release even before its expected launch date.
Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that these are merely assumptions at this point. As soon as any official statements are made, we will promptly update this page.
