An exciting new poster for ‘Terrifier 4 in Space’ has been making waves on social media, sparking interest among fans eager for some cosmic chaos featuring Art the Clown. But is this thrilling concept actually on the horizon?
This intriguing notion harkens back to 1992, when ‘Critters 4′ pioneered the amusing trend of horror franchises venturing into outer space for a taste of extraterrestrial terror.
Take, for example, ‘Hellraiser: Bloodline’ from 1996, which partially unfolds aboard a futuristic space station where an engineer attempts to defeat Pinhead using the Lament Configuration. Then there’s ‘Dracula 3000′ (2004), where the iconic vampire makes his grand return aboard a spaceship set in the year 3000, preying on the crew.
Perhaps most notably, 2001’s ‘Jason X’ presented a scenario where scientists from a colonized ‘Earth II’ resurrect the iconic slasher’s cryogenically preserved body, leading to absolute mayhem; that infamous sleeping bag kill is certainly unforgettable!
Thus, the concept of ‘Terrifier 4 in Space’ is not without precedent. Yet, it appears it isn’t coming to fruition.
The artwork was crafted by diamonddead, who expressed on Instagram: “The impressive journey of the blood-soaked Terrifier franchise is a remarkable tale, regardless of whether you’re a fan of the series or not.
“That said, the anticipation for more installments in the Terrifier saga raises a fun question: When will we see the franchise venture into space? Inspired by the Halloween season, I felt compelled to design this playful Terrifier 4 poster… set in space with zero-gravity gore. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!”
While Damien Leone, the creator, has not disclosed any plot details regarding Terrifier 4, the idea of Art traveling to space falters under brief scrutiny.
Following the events of ‘Terrifier’ and ‘All Hallows’ Eve,’ the subsequent films center around Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera), whose journey is far from complete. During Fantastic Fest earlier this year, Leone stated that Sienna must find her cousin Gabbie, who was dragged into a hell portal at the conclusion of ‘Terrifier 3.’
This means there’s no logical pathway for Sienna to realistically end up in space, and if Art did venture into the cosmos, it would likely involve an entirely new set of victims. At present, this amusing idea remains just that—an amusing idea, with no imminent reality.
