IShowSpeed accepts Jake Paul’s footrace challenge with $25,000 on the line

YouTube sensation Jake Paul has extended an invitation for IShowSpeed to join him in Puerto Rico for a footrace, after placing a $25,000 wager on his skills as a runner against the popular online streamer.

Despite his reputation as a boxer, Jake Paul is venturing into the world of track and field for his newest athletic pursuit.

It started on an episode of his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul, in August 2024, when he publicly challenged fellow influencer IShowSpeed to a race.

“I challenged Speed to a forty-yard dash and I beat him,”he proclaimed. “This is my official call out to Speed. It’s clear that he’s not as fast as he claims to be.”

Before long, Speed noticed Jake’s ultimatum and FaceTimed him during a September live stream.

“Speed joked that Jake was aware that it was essentially free money, feeling assured that he would easily defeat him in a speed test, as it was his namesake.”

“Sure, for me,”Jake responded with a chuckle. “Let’s make the arrangements here in Puerto Rico since I’m about to begin training camp,”he added. “I’ll cover your flight and all the details.”

“Sounds good to me. A complimentary flight and $25,000? I’m in. Let’s do it,”Speed responded.

Jake is currently preparing for his November 2024 boxing match against Mike Tyson. With only one defeat in his 9-fight career, Jake has consistently demonstrated his athleticism… but Speed is also a formidable opponent.

To everyone’s surprise, Speed impressed the internet by outpacing a UFC fighter in the 40-meter dash during Fanatics Fest, just days before Jake’s August challenge. He even maintained eye contact with his opponent throughout the race.

Despite all of this, he also successfully convinced fellow streamer Adin Ross to tap out during a grappling match officiated by UFC president Dana White, and even outscored Brazilian MMA fighter Alex Pereira on a punching machine, with a final score of 921-906.

In addition, he has gained recognition for his hobby of jumping over oncoming supercars… thus, it is evident that Speed possesses the necessary skills to compete against one of YouTube’s most skilled athletes.

Jake has not been shy about challenging famous figures to races. Recently, he has claimed that he could outrun Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner, the star cornerback for the New York Jets. He also caught the eye of Polish Olympic runner Ewa Swoboda, who invited him to put his speed to the test in a race.

At the moment, it remains uncertain when precisely these two will compete against each other, but in any case, one of them will be taking home a substantial amount of money.
