Streaming sensation IShowSpeed has received praise from an Olympic medalist from Team USA for his ambitious attempt to break the world record for backflips completed in a single day. The athlete even expressed a desire to assist him in his endeavor.
In recent years, IShowSpeed has demonstrated that his livestreams are often full of surprises. Initially, he gained popularity by playing FIFA and Valorant from his bedroom, also engaging with viewers on Omegle. However, his content has evolved significantly over the past year.
While his streams during the summer were predominantly chaotic IRL broadcasts, he has dialed back the intensity in recent weeks.
At the beginning of October, IShowSpeed set his sights on conquering the world record for the most backflips performed in a 24-hour period—a challenging target of over 1,000 backflips. Ultimately, Speed managed to complete around 660 backflips. Following his attempt, he remarked that he felt “paralyzed.”
Nonetheless, his attempt garnered the attention of Olympic bronze medalist Frederick Richard, who expressed his admiration and willingness to help him set a new personal best next time.
“I must say, Speed, I’m impressed—660 backflips! I would train you for speed,” he shared on his FredrickFlips TikTok profile, mentioning that there are several “technical elements” the streamer could “improve” for his next try.

“There’s a part of me that thinks, should I go for the record? I absolutely can—I’ve done hundreds in practice—but is it worth the potential injury?” the Olympian added. “I commend you for following through with it. If this video takes off, I’ll give it a shot!”
IShowSpeed has assured his followers that he plans to attempt to set a new record, currently held by Austria’s Nico Scheicher, after taking a brief recovery period.
Having support from an Olympic-level gymnast could significantly enhance his chances of success next time. We will have to wait and see how this unfolds in the upcoming weeks.
