IShowSpeed’s Sprint Challenge
Confounded yet intrigued by the complexities of the game, Speed challenged GWS player Callum Brown to a 50-meter race, eagerly defending his self-described title as the “fastest man alive.”The initial race saw Speed winning “easily,”a victory he later proclaimed was achieved without “really trying.”
Following the first race, Speed and Brown agreed to a ten thousand dollar wager. The competition escalated as speed secured victory once more, casually remarking that he was only operating at “60 percent”capacity. However, an immediate rematch brought twists as Brown pitted Speed’s bodyguard against himself, resulting in Speed’s first loss.
“I gave you a chance to win your money back because I felt bad,” he humorously commented, showcasing his charismatic rapport with the GWS players. Not one to back down, Speed sought another challenge against GWS player Darcy Jones, promising a showdown that would be more intense.
A Close Call and Controversy: Speed vs. Jones
The race against Jones pushed the limits, ending in heated debate as Speed claimed the first attempt was marred by a “false start.” His insistence that Jones had “gone early” fueled the playful rivalry between the two athletes.

The subsequent race ended in what many spectators deemed a draw, fueling Speed’s unrelenting competitive spirit. “Bro, I won it; my leg crossed the line first,” he countered, dismissively. However, GWS teammates unanimously agreed that Jones emerged victorious, adding to the tension of the lighthearted competition.
Eager to settle the score, Speed proposed a third and final race but ultimately accepted the two established races as conclusive. His time with the GWS proved to be an insightful exploration of Australian sports culture, as he broadened his understanding of athleticism in footy.
In addition to running, Speed experienced the physicality of Australian rules football firsthand. He participated in tackling drills, humorously yet energetically showcasing a tackling exercise alongside other GWS players. He also learned how to execute the renowned AFL “Speccy”mark, where players leap atop an opponent to catch the ball, adding further depth to his footy experience.
Before departing from the GWS headquarters, Speed lightheartedly suggested that he would be a valuable addition to the team, envisioning himself signing a contract with the AFL. His enthusiasm left a lasting impression, reflecting a successful integration of cultural exchange during his Aussie adventure.
