Ishura season 2 is set to premiere in January 2025. This announcement was made by the anime’s official staff through a teaser promotional video released on September 10, 2024. In addition to confirming the release date, the staff provided insights into the cast members joining the series.
Serving as the sequel to the first installment, Ishura season 2 follows the earlier series, which aired 12 episodes from January to March 2024 in a single cour. The anime is based on the dark fantasy light novel series by Keiso (author) and Kureta (illustrator).

On September 10, 2024, Kadokawa released a teaser promotional video for Ishura season 2, announcing the January 2025 release window. The teaser showcased the sequel’s storyline and important characters returning to Ishura season 2. However, an exact date for the premiere has not yet been revealed.
The teaser introduces a new character voice for Kuro no Kaishin, a leprechaun assassin who worked for the Obsidian Eyes, voiced by Mariya Ise. The promotional video provides a sneak peek into Kuro’s character.
Additionally, Rikiya Koyama will voice Mele no Chiheihou, a giant archer residing on the outskirts of Riverstead, and Miko Ito will be voicing Kyunee no Mayoi, a winged homunculus and Kuro’s accomplice.
The new voice actors shared their first impressions of their respective characters on the anime’s official website.
Along with the cast announcements, the official website revealed that the first season of Ishura will be available on multiple streaming platforms including d Anime Store, Disney Plus, U-NEXT, Unlimited Anime, Hulu, Lemino, J-Com Stream, Prime Video, and DMM TV.
Furthermore, the anime’s website has released a character relationship chart to help fans revisit season 1 while anticipating Ishura season 2.
The first season of the dark fantasy anime premiered on January 3, 2024, across Tokyo MX, BS Nippon, KBS Tokyo, and several other channels. Disney+ offered a worldwide streaming option, while Hulu provided exclusive access in the United States.
The voice cast featured notable talents including Yuki Kaji as Sojiro, Jun Fukuyama as Alus, Reina Ueda as Yuno, Romi Park as Taren, Aoi Yuki as Kia, Sora Amamiya as Curte, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hideow, Shinichiro Miki as Kuze, Yumiri Hanamori as Lana, and more.
Directed by Yuki Ogawa at Studio Passione, the first season featured Takeo Takahashi as the chief director. Kenta Ihara supervised the scripts, while character designs were handled by Yuka Takashina, Yuko Yamada, Yoko Kikuchi, and Tatsuya Fukushima.
The upcoming season will continue the adaptation from the second volume of Keiso’s light novel series and cover the story arc titled Ishura II: The Particle Storm in the Realm of Slaughter.
