ITZY’s Lia Discusses Full-Group Comeback After Year-Long Hiatus: “We Prepared Hard”

On the afternoon of October 15th, a celebratory press conference took place at the Conrad Seoul located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to mark the launch of ITZY’s latest mini album titled “GOLD” .

All five members of the group, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna, graced the occasion with their presence.

The event saw announcer Kim Min-jung introducing ITZY, who then took to the stage to engage with their audience.

ITZY is back with a new album approximately nine months after their prior release, “BORN TO BE” . This comeback is particularly special as Lia, who had been on a year-long hiatus due to health issues, has rejoined the team, allowing the group to promote as a complete unit.

Yeji shared her excitement about having all five members back together, saying, “I’m thrilled that we can greet you as a quintet. We’re eager and looking forward to this comeback because we worked hard for it.” She emphasized, “It’s a unique feeling to present our charms again as five. We aspire to deliver brilliant performances that reflect our readiness.”

Lia expressed her gratitude to everyone, stating, “I can stand here confidently because many people, including fans and my fellow members, believed in me and waited for my return.” She added, “As this is our first chance to showcase ourselves after a while, I felt we needed to return even more equipped, hence my hard work. I’m thrilled.”

The central theme of ITZY’s new album “GOLD” is “Our World is still different” , highlighting the unique stories and music of the group. They are adding a fresh appeal with two title tracks during their full-group comeback.

The main title track, also called “GOLD” , emphasizes powerful vocal shouts along with dynamic electric guitar riffs. In contrast, the second title track, “Imaginary Friend” , elevates the listener’s imagination with its sweet vocal harmonies and poignant lyrics.

ITZY’s new mini album “GOLD” will officially launch today, October 15th, at 6 PM. To engage with fans, they will host a countdown live event starting at 5 PM on the same day.
