During the October 16th episode of MBC’s “Radio Star,” which featured guests such as Kim Byung-man, Kim Jaejoong, Kim Dong-jun, and Cao Lu, the discussion shifted to FIESTAR’s recent reunion.
Cao Lu explained the motivation for their reunion effort, stating, “The members have a genuine passion for performing. When I proposed the idea of getting back together, I was met with enthusiasm, but they expressed doubts saying, ‘We’ve never hit number one, so it’s unlikely any label would support a new release for us.’ That made me even more resolute.”
Addressing her achievements in live commerce in China, Cao Lu shared, “I acquired the rights to our track ‘You’re Pitiful,’ which nearly topped the charts. We decided to remix it and release a new version.”
Cao Lu expressed her gratitude to everyone who facilitated the reunion, saying, “The album production felt overwhelming, but producer Rhymer played a crucial role in helping us meet our deadlines. Additionally, we collaborated with IU on ‘Sea Of Moonlight.’ She was incredibly supportive during our earlier days, though we didn’t achieve the success we aimed for, which made me feel guilty. Hence, I chose not to inform her about our reunion plans. However, shortly after the release of our comeback track, she kindly promoted us on her personal social media.”
In her closing remarks, Cao Lu reflected on the late Shinsadong Tiger, expressing heartfelt emotions, “Talking about him is quite touching. While we were financing the album ourselves, we reached out to him to see if he could reduce the cost for the song rights, and he offered us an unbeatable rate. His generosity made our comeback possible.”
