The “2024 AKMU 10th Anniversary Concert [10VE]”took place at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park on June 16th in the afternoon. The concert was a two-day event, held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of AKMU’s debut, with the first day being June 15th.
During the concert, IU made a surprise appearance as a guest and mesmerized the audience with her performance of “Meaning of You.” The fans were ecstatic and sang along with her as she encouraged them to join in, saying, “Let’s hear the voices of AKKADEMY.” The 10,000 strong crowd delivered a spectacular rendition of the song.
IU expressed her gratitude, stating, “I was originally a guest at AKMU’s first concert, so it is truly a privilege to once again join them as a guest for their 10th anniversary celebration. It is remarkable to see how they have become like family to me since we first met when they were just 16 and 19. I am incredibly proud of their success as they have become the leading musicians in Korea and have even filled the KSPO Dome.”
“Following her performance, IU expressed her wish for AKMU to continue singing until their 100th anniversary. She asked the audience to continue showing love and support for these talented musicians, and then proceeded to perform her song “Blueming”live.”
During AKMU’s concert, they performed their top hits from their 10-year journey, as well as debuting new songs and previously unreleased tracks from their third mini album, “Love Episode,” which was released on June 3rd. Their clever and entertaining performances, centered around the theme of “10VE,” also featured band sessions, choirs, orchestras, and musical actors joining them on stage.
