On September 11th, Melon unveiled statistics regarding its “DJ Playlist” service, utilizing data collected since 2004.
IU emerged as the most frequently chosen artist by Melon DJs, with 9,160 DJs incorporating her music a staggering 91,479 times across 30,000 playlists.
Among IU’s tracks, “Through the Night” was the most commonly featured in various playlists.
NewJeans’ popular song “Hype Boy” topped the charts in DJ playlists, being included by 2,047 DJs in 4,556 playlists.
In the realm of international music, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” stood out as the most popular track.
Melon’s “DJ Playlist” feature empowers users to become DJs and share personalized playlists. Anyone can apply to become a general DJ, while those who display exceptional skills and produce popular playlists may advance to the status of Power DJs after an evaluation process.
Currently, there are 24,396 active DJs on Melon, with 113 recognized as Power DJs for their advanced expertise. Collectively, these DJs have generated 185,399 playlists, showcasing over 10.53 million songs.
