On May 16th, EDAM Entertainment, the agency of IU, shared various donation certificates, expressing their desire for everyone to experience warmth and love similar to that provided by UAENA this year.
Based on the donation certificates, 200 million won was donated by IU in the name of “IUAENA,”with 50 million won being given to each of the following organizations: Grouphome for children and youth, Korea Welfare Services, Snail of Love, and Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association.
The 50 million won contributed to Korea Welfare Services will go towards aiding young adults in their transition to independent living and helping them integrate into society with stability. Similarly, the 50 million won donated to Snail of Love aims to provide assistance to individuals with hearing impairments.
On her birthday last year, IU donated 250 million won under the name “IUAENA”. Out of this amount, 50 million won was allocated to single-parent families, young adults preparing for independence, and unwed mothers, while the remaining 100 million won was donated to disadvantaged children in Korea.
Furthermore, she made a generous donation of 100 million won to the ChildFund Korea on Children’s Day (May 5th).
According to reports, IU has been donating over 5 billion won since her debut.
Fans expressed their appreciation with comments like “I am grateful that I have Ji-eun as my singer,””IU is unparalleled,””Thank you for always being there,””She is truly exceptional,”and “Her kind heart shines through.”
At the moment, IU is performing on her “2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT”and her upcoming Netflix series “When Life Gives You Tangerines”is set to premiere soon.
