The performance of IVE Liz and Kim Min Ah’s duet of Kim Sejeong’s “Flower Way”, with the participation of NCT Jungwoo’s older sister, sent NCTzens and DIVEs into a frenzy on X.
On May 12, the popular entertainment show “King of Mask Singer”aired its 450th episode on MBC, featuring a thrilling duet battle between the contestants “Hourglass”and “Sand Play.”
Even though IVE Liz was wearing masks, both K-pop fans and the media were able to confirm that she was the one singing “Hourglass”simply by recognizing her voice and physique.
After being defeated in the battle, “Sand Play”revealed her identity as actress Kim Min Ah. It was later confirmed that she is the older sister of NCT Jungwoo.
While performing a duet, Liz and Kim Min Ah delivered a stunning rendition of Kim Sejeong’s debut track “Flower Way”(produced by Zico).
Despite being visibly nervous, Min Ah received praise for showcasing that the “celebrity genes”are hereditary, not just limited to her stunning appearance but also her impressive singing abilities.
Liz, the lead singer of IVE, solidified her position as one of the top fourth-generation vocalists with her impeccable vocal abilities and mastery of vocal control.
Despite it being a competition, both NCTzens (Jungwoo’s fans) and DIVEs (IVE Liz fans) were touched by seeing them sing the song with their angelic voices and were overjoyed by the unexpected interaction between them.
Despite competing against a non-singer, Liz was praised for her ability to not overpower her partner and instead create a beautiful harmony that made them stand out.
Ultimately, the panels selected IVE Liz, who was disguised as “Hourglass,”to move on to the next round.
After witnessing Liz and Min Ah’s duet, fans were quick to leave glowing comments, saying things like:
- “Liz gets to sing with Jungwoo’s sister, that’s very sweet.”
- “Both are really good.”
- “Wait, so Kim Min Ah (NCT Jungwoo’s sister) sings with IVE Liz?”
On the other hand, if you are not familiar with Kim Min Ah (born in 1995), she happens to be the elder sister of NCT 127’s Jungwoo (born in 1998).
In 2015, she made her debut as a singer under the name Haru, but in 2021, she joined Woori Actors and began pursuing an acting career.
Despite appearing in minor roles in works such as “My Name”and “Jazz for Two,”Kim Min Ah gained popularity when she became a frequent guest on “Love Naggers Season 3.”
During a brief interview on the broadcast, Kim Min Ah discussed her younger brother. Although she was initially hesitant to reveal her relationship with Jungwoo to the public, the idol encouraged her and urged her to speak freely.
“Actually, my younger brother and I have been very cautious about mentioning each other. We were reluctant to mention it, but he said, ‘If that’s what you want to do, then do it,’ so we came out.”
When asked about their three-year age gap, Min Ah subtly alluded to their genuine sibling relationship, stating:
“Just like any other siblings, we bicker and take care of each other when we have to. (When I joined here), he just said, ‘Do your best.’”
