Just days after receiving a ban from Kick following the disastrous crash of his $200,000 McLaren, Jack Doherty faced further repercussions—a ticket for allegedly using his phone while behind the wheel.
On October 5, 2024, while driving his high-end McLaren 520s on a slick, rainy highway during an IRL streaming session, Doherty lost command of the vehicle.
His car skidded dramatically before colliding with the guard rail, leading to the complete destruction of his vehicle and an immediate, permanent ban from Kick.
The incident sparked widespread reactions from prominent figures online, including xQc, who labeled the influencer as “braindead,”while 100 Thieves founder Nadeshot suggested he should serve jail time.
Many speculated whether Jack Dohety would encounter legal troubles following the viral spread of the crash footage. On October 14, he posted a video revealing that law enforcement arrived at his residence with a citation.
The ticket was issued for “using a wireless device while driving,” and the deputy from the Florida Highway Patrol explicitly stated that it was due to the viral content circulating on social media.

Despite this, Jack maintained his innocence, asserting that the video had been manipulated and he was not using his phone at the time of the crash. “They edited it; I showed the original footage, and I was not on my phone,” he stated. “Innocent until proven guilty, I suppose.”
Following his ban from Kick, Doherty has transitioned to Twitch for his live-streaming activities. Since making the switch, he has gone live only a few times, with each session lasting just a short duration.
In addition, he has been active on his YouTube channels, where he boasts 14 million subscribers on his primary channel and over 1 million on another.
The influencer’s viral crash was humorously referenced in a skit on Saturday Night Live on October 12, where comedian Colin Jost reported on the accident.
