Banned Kick streamer Jack Doherty has decided to express his remorse towards his cameraman by gifting him an extravagant item after his recent McLaren accident, where he controversially requested his injured assistant to document his reaction for his channel.
The incident that ignited widespread outrage on October 5 saw Doherty taking his McLaren 520s for a drive on a rainy highway. Unfortunately, he lost control of the powerful vehicle, crashing into a guardrail.
After the collision, Doherty exited the supercar and, in a perplexing move, asked his cameraman—who was visibly injured and bleeding from the crash—to capture footage of him feigning shock for his livestream.
Consequently, the streamer faced a permanent ban from Kick, with co-owner Adin Ross stating that Doherty would have to pay a substantial fee to even be considered for reinstatement.
Doherty’s behavior has incited significant backlash online, but he has attempted to amend the situation by presenting his cameraman with an expensive gift.
In a video shared on October 9, Doherty surprised his employee, Michael, with a “300 horsepower supercharged jet ski,” referring to it as an “I’m sorry gift” for dragging him into the unfortunate McLaren crash.
“He’s been wanting one of these forever,” Doherty remarked. “Today marks my birthday, but it’s also a celebration for both of us considering what I put him through a few days ago.”
The vibrant blue jet ski left Michael speechless, and he humorously noted that his involvement in the wreck was “worth it” due to the gift he received.
Nonetheless, many commenters remain skeptical about if this gesture is enough to remedy the situation. A number of them are accusing Doherty of attempting to “bribe” his cameraman to avoid any legal repercussions.

“Here’s a jetski, please don’t sue me bro,” one viewer humorously remarked.
“Let’s be real, you don’t care about your filmer; you’re just trying to smooth over the backlash,” another commented.
“Bro thought this gift would make us forgive him,” another added.
Following the crash, Doherty has begun exploring other platforms for income due to his ban on Kick, which has drawn similar criticism from social media users.
