Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia admit “faking beef” to “stir things up”

Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia admit “faking beef” to “stir things up”

Despite being a polarizing figure, boxing star Ryan Garcia clarified that his ongoing feud with Jake Paul is not as straightforward as it may appear.

Garcia opened the May 16 episode of BS w/ Jake Paul by freestyle rapping, followed by aggressively insulting Paul’s co-host Jasper for the majority of the 62-minute segment.

During the podcast, Garcia had sent a selfie to UFC champion Sean O’Malley, who then made a cameo appearance later on. ‘Suga Sean’ joined the conversation through FaceTime, and the two had an energetic exchange.

Paul couldn’t help but burst into laughter multiple times during the episode due to Garcia’s antics, which raised the question: Despite their recent disagreement, why were they still so friendly with each other?

“Garcia admitted with a chuckle, “We like to play around and cause some drama.”Paul added, “We joke with each other and say, ‘Let’s stir the pot a little.’”

“No, I really did,”‘King Ryan’ asserted. “I mean, at times we would genuinely argue like siblings.”

The last remark sparked a discussion about a possible Garcia vs Paul fight, with both individuals agreeing to participate on a single condition.

Following Garcia’s statement that he would only agree to the fight if the “bag”was satisfactory, discussions about a potential Netflix match arose, similar to the upcoming one between Paul and Mike Tyson on July 20.

“Let’s do what needs to be done,”Garcia said, fist bumping Paul. “Absolutely, let’s step it up,”‘The Problem Child’ replied.

The origins of their “fake beef”can be traced back three years, to a video where they both appeared and the tension seemed far from fake. Garcia repeatedly makes jokes about Paul not being a professional fighter.

In a similar instance, Garcia challenged Paul to a fight in 2024, accusing the influencer of disrespecting their shared sport.

However, Paul has retaliated by dismissing Garcia’s previous challenge for a boxing match, claiming that he is a superior boxer compared to the former interim WBC champion.

Despite their seemingly resolved issues, it wouldn’t be unexpected if their “fake beef”were to escalate into a genuine conflict, considering their history of altercations.

Regardless of the outcome of Paul’s fight against Tyson, the potential for a highly anticipated matchup with Garcia, a 25-1 pro boxer, is very tempting.
