Jake Paul backed against UFC champ after wild fight call out

A former UFC champion has expressed their support for Jake Paul, stating that if he were to fight current UFC champion Alex Pereira after Jake’s bold post-fight challenge, he would have their backing.

After defeating ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry on July 20, Jake Perry wasted no time in issuing challenges to several other fighters. While he did mention his upcoming fight with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson, he also had his sights set on a new opponent – Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira.

Even while basking in his win over Perry, Jake made time to FaceTime the UFC light heavyweight champion.

Despite being known for his kickboxing abilities, Pereira has recently shared some boxing workouts on social media. This has only added to the speculation that the two fighters may face off in an epic crossover event.

According to former UFC champion Kamaru Usman, a boxing match between the two would not be a completely “unwinnable”fight for Jake.

“While I have confidence in Alex Pereira’s ability to win the fight, I do not believe it is impossible for Jake Paul to win,”the Nigerian Nightmare stated in his UFC 304 preview.

Jake Paul displayed strong skills in his performance, particularly with his effective use of the jab. Whenever he committed to using the jab, it proved to be successful. Although Alex Pereira is known for utilizing the same strategy that helped Mike Perry win his fight, it should also be noted that Pereira tends to keep his hands low.

The time recorded was 9:40.

The previous Welterweight champion of UFC also mentioned that Poatan has a formidable hook, but lacks the head movement of a seasoned boxer. He stated, “His head doesn’t move as much as a boxer’s should. As a result, I won’t rule out the possibility of Jake Paul surprising us.”

Similarly, Usman shares Jake’s belief that UFC President Dana White would intervene to prevent the crossover fight.

“I am willing to face any and all challenges. However, the question remains: will Dana White allow my opponents to face me? It would be too risky for him to potentially humiliate his top fighter at this moment,”stated the ‘Problem Child’ during his post-fight press conference.
