A retired UFC fighter, who also happens to be a professional boxer, recently expressed his desire to face off against Jake Paul and “dominate”the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who has yet to secure an opponent for his upcoming MMA debut.
Ever since entering the world of combat sports, Jake Paul has been the target of numerous callouts from both boxers and mixed martial artists.
Since signing his deal with the PFL, the ‘Problem Child’ has received a surge in callouts from MMA fighters. This is due to his victories over notable names such as Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz in the boxing ring, leaving many seeking revenge.
Jake and the PFL have assured that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will face a notable opponent in his MMA debut. However, he has recently received a challenge from Clay Collard, a former UFC fighter currently signed with the PFL.
Collard, who has a professional boxing record of 9-6-3, stated in an interview with Talksport’s MMA channel that Jake is the only opponent he is truly interested in boxing.
The 31-year-old expressed his desire to only box against Jake Paul, stating that he wants to do it on behalf of all the MMA fighters that Paul has defeated.
“Unlike most of these guys, I have some experience in the game of boxing. Therefore, I believe he would have a tough time facing me. However, he’s currently engaging in reckless behavior. I am determined to defeat you.”
Despite not having made a significant impact in his recent fights, Collard has been on a three-fight losing streak in boxing and has also suffered defeats in his last two MMA matches.
Jake is currently facing a busy schedule as he prepares for a fight against Mike Tyson in July and an event on April 26, in which he is expected to box once again.
