Jake Paul is exerting significant “pressure”on UFC Champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira to facilitate their anticipated boxing bout, as Paul firmly believes in his own victory.
Since embarking on his boxing career, Paul has successfully bridged the gap between boxing and MMA. His nearly flawless boxing record boasts victories over numerous former UFC athletes, such as Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and Mike Perry.
Previously, Jake has expressed a strong desire to fight Conor McGregor, frequently antagonizing the Irish fighter in the process.
In his latest endeavor, he has set his sights on the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira. Paul issued a challenge to Pereira following his July victory against Perry. Now that Pereira has returned to the Octagon, Jake believes the champion has shown weaknesses and is increasing pressures for the match to materialize.
“I am 1000% confident that I would defeat him,” Jake asserted during an interview with Adin Ross regarding the potential clash. “(Khalil) Rountree effectively highlighted that Pereira doesn’t maintain a high volume of strikes and struggles against body shots. Boxing requires a distinct approach and pace.”

The YouTube star turned boxer pointed out that Pereira has evident “flaws”in his fighting style, mentioning that he was “shaken”during his bout with Rountree.
“I am confident I would win in a boxing match, and I am eager for that opportunity. The pressure is on him,” Jake continued. “If he manages to navigate his way out of his UFC deal as Nate Diaz did, then we can potentially discuss a fight.”
Pereira has expressed interest in stepping into the boxing ring, even undergoing training sessions with Brazilian boxers. However, his UFC contract stands in the way, especially considering that Dana White is not particularly fond of Jake.
Looking ahead, Jake intends to transition to MMA by 2025, marking his inaugural appearance with PFL. So, there’s a possibility that this boxing match could take place sometime in the future.
