Jake Paul Confirms Continued Boxing Career After MMA Debut Amid “Finishing Up” Concerns

Jake Paul will definitely continue his boxing career even after he makes his highly anticipated MMA debut, despite some worrying indications that he might be “finishing up” following his fight with Mike Tyson.

In January 2023, Jake Paul made headlines when he revealed that he had signed with the PFL – Professional Fighters League. The ‘Problem Child,’ who has been gaining traction in the boxing scene, surprised fans and fighters alike with his transition to Mixed Martial Arts.

Since securing that deal, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has remained focused on boxing. While he has extended numerous offers to various fighters, his debut in MMA has been postponed.

The PFL announced that Paul is slated to make his MMA debut in 2025, two years after inking that deal. He must first contend with a bout against Mike Tyson, which PFL CEO Peter Murray described as Jake’s “finishing up” point with boxing.

Although that was initially suggested as a seasonal conclusion, some misinterpreted it to mean Jake would stop boxing altogether. However, Murray has since clarified the situation.

“Jake will continue his boxing journey, but he is dedicated to making his PFL MMA debut in 2025,” he told Bloody Elbow.

Jake signed a contract with the PFL and is yet to make his MMA debut.

Murray emphasized that Jake will be facing a “real, legitimate fighter” for his inaugural MMA bout. He also mentioned that it will be a “spectacle” when the event occurs.

“We have a partnership with Jake and we’re looking forward to supporting him in MMA,” he continued. “We’re set to stage that mega event next year, along with more events on the horizon. Several potential opponents are already lining up.”

As noted, Jake has made offers to fighters, including Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. However, it’s quite improbable that either will be his opponent for the debut given their current affiliations with the UFC.
