Jake Paul proposes massive rule change to Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul has suggested a significant alteration to the rules for his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson, following their much-anticipated confrontation at a press conference.

In a surprising move, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson announced in March that they would be facing each other in a boxing match. The highly anticipated match was originally scheduled for July and was set to be televised by Netflix.

Despite his previous commitment to fight ‘Iron’ Mike, Jake was forced to pull out of the bout due to an ulcer flare-up on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. In his place, he fought and convincingly defeated ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry. Fortunately, the fight with Tyson was still on the table as it had been rescheduled for November 15.

Despite the fight night being months away, efforts have already begun to reignite the excitement. The YouTuber-turned-boxer had a tense encounter with Tyson at the initial pre-fight press conference on August 18.

Amidst all of that, Jake proposed a rule alteration for the fight while Tyson encouraged him to ensure that he is physically prepared. “Take care of yourself and be in peak condition, as your well-being is at stake,”the 58-year-old advised.

“Jake swiftly retorted, “You’re the one who requested eight two-minute rounds. How about we make it ten rounds of three minutes each? Don’t lecture me about endurance. Is that what you want? Ten rounds of three minutes?”

The timestamp is set at 19:00.

The individual known as the ‘Problem Child’ argued that he is simply stating facts during the build-up, while Tyson is the one engaging in trash-talking. He made this statement during a live stream event, which can be viewed at the provided link.

It is improbable that the proposed rule change will come into effect, particularly due to the backlash surrounding the fight’s significant age difference between the two competitors.

Jake and Mike have both expressed their desire for the fight to be sanctioned as a professional event, as the 27-year-old has his sights set on becoming a world champion afterwards. However, there is no telling what the outcome may be.
