Despite being a prominent figure in influencer boxing, Jake Paul expressed concerns regarding the future of the sport, asserting that it may be “dying out.”
In a September 6 interview with Daily Mail, the 27-year-old highlighted his belief that fans, initially drawn in by Logan Paul’s fight with KSI in 2019, have become “tired of seeing the s***** punches,” criticizing many matches as “sloppy.”
“Now that they’re fans of the sport, I think they want to see more real, higher level skill. So it’s definitely dying out,” he added.
After his win over former UFC fighter Mike Perry in July, Paul’s upcoming fight is set against heavyweight boxing icon Mike Tyson. Scheduled for November, concerns linger regarding the bout’s progression due to Tyson’s ongoing health issues.
If 58-year-old Tyson has to withdraw, Paul mentioned that he currently does not have a backup opponent lined up.

Regarding other potential matchups, when questioned about a possible bout with Irish MMA star Conor McGregor, Paul remained skeptical.
“I don’t think we will [fight], just because he knows what will happen,” the YouTuber remarked. The two have exchanged insults on social media frequently, and Paul did not hold back in his latest comments.
“Conor has a brittle body,” Paul noted, adding, “He’s known for getting injuries all the time. It’s basically like every camp, he was getting injured even in his prime. So he just needs to drink some milk.”
Following Paul’s victory over Mike Perry, McGregor criticized him, calling him the “biggest p***bag I have ever seen in my life.”
So far, Jake Paul has only suffered one loss in his boxing career, which was against Tommy Fury in 2023.
