On July 20, in front of a global Netflix audience, Jake Paul plans to use a unique strategy to defeat the iconic boxer Mike Tyson in their upcoming fight.
The highly anticipated combat sporting event between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has captured the attention of many, as the 27-year-old social media sensation sets his sights on defeating a boxing legend.
Despite not having started his fight camp yet, Paul understands the formidable strength of Tyson’s right hand and even admitted to feeling nervous as the July 20 match approaches, as seen in recent training footage.
Despite confessing to Shane Mosley that he currently weighs 230 pounds, Paul proceeded to elaborate on the strategic advantage of bulking up for the Tyson fight.
“People are often surprised to learn that I weigh that much,”Paul commented. “I believe it’s because I usually fight at 200 pounds and weigh around 210 pounds outside of training.”
“My plan is to reach 240 pounds and then trim down for a faster pace. However, if I train for this camp at 240 and then decrease my weight to 220, it will feel like I have been carrying a 20-pound weight vest.”
“As a result, my muscles will become significantly stronger and my speed will improve.”
Paul proceeded to discuss his complete training routine for the Tyson match and whether it differed from his approach in previous fights.
“Paul mentioned that the training camp was essentially the same, with a few minor differences which he went into detail about.”
One of the main factors that sets me apart is my ability to eat. I have already observed that this greatly improves my recovery process.
“Moreover, I will likely engage in fewer sparring sessions with heavyweights due to their powerful punches and the increased intensity of taking shots from them.”
“Those are the two main aspects, however the third one is our familiarity with Tyson’s fighting style. Surprisingly, there isn’t an abundance of footage available for many of my opponents.”
“Given the abundance of footage available on Mike Tyson, we have a clear understanding of his actions and intentions.”
Despite being 30 years younger, Paul does not underestimate Tyson, the former boxing world champion. He is confident in his winning game plan and is ready to put it into action.
