Jake Paul has unveiled his game plan for the upcoming match against Mike Tyson, as he claims to already have a good idea of how the boxing legend will approach the fight.
When the announcement of their fight was made back in March, it quickly attracted skepticism from the boxing community. While discussions of this match had been circulating for some time, turning it into a real event has proven to be another matter.
The most significant concern regarding this matchup has been the notable age difference. At 58 years old, Tyson’s health and his ability to sustain a full bout have been widely questioned.
Consequently, the ‘Problem Child’ has emerged as the favorite in pre-fight betting odds. Many analysts predict that he will use evasive tactics in the early rounds to exhaust the older opponent before launching his offensive play later in the fight.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jake outlined his tactics: “I plan to box from the outside and utilize my agility to make him pursue me, then strike when he’s out of position,” he explained in the magazine’s October issue. “That should really frustrate him.”
Jake Paul is set to battle boxing icon Mike Tyson live on Netflix this November.
The 27-year-old anticipates that Tyson will attempt to corner him against the ropes, aiming to land punches from various angles.
Known for his incredible punching power, Tyson’s speed in his prime made him a formidable opponent. Although age may have diminished some of his quickness, his strength remains intact. Jake’s former trainer, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley, has cautioned him that he may not fully grasp the power of a Tyson punch.
