Since entering the boxing world, Jake Paul has never been hesitant to express his ambitions. The self-proclaimed ‘Problem Child’ has consistently voiced his desire to take on top-ranked boxers and even has his sights set on a world championship title.
Despite critics urging him to lower his ambitions, doubting his potential for a world championship, he has been presented with legitimate opportunities over the past few years.
The WBC had extended an offer to rank Jake if he were to defeat Hasim Rahman Jr, and now the WBA is discussing a potential title match for the former YouTuber-turned-boxer against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
WBA President Gilberto Mendoza has confirmed his willingness to arrange a title fight between Jake and Cesar Chavez Jr after the social media sensation’s impressive knockout victory against Mike Perry.
The WBA President expressed their congratulations to Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions for their show, as well as their fresh and innovative approach to the sport of boxing. They also stated their admiration for their work.

Unsurprisingly, Mendoza’s proposal was met with a flood of disapproval from boxing fans. One person remarked, “If that were to occur, it would render boxing titles completely worthless.”Another person voiced their opinion, saying, “This tweet is a direct insult to every boxer out there.”
Despite having no ranking points from his fights, Jake remains confident that he will become a world champion in 2025. However, given his current situation, it is possible that he may need assistance, such as the WBA’s proposal, in order to be considered for the title.
There have been rumors that he may also face Cesar Chavez Jr in the future, as some speculate that he is being considered as a replacement for Chavez Jr’s upcoming fights, including the rematch with Mike Tyson.
Despite defeating Uriah Hall on the undercard of Jake’s victory over Mike Perry, the former Middleweight world champion has not been competing at a championship level for several years.
