Jake Paul’s Boxing Video Debunked as Clip Goes Viral Ahead of Mike Tyson Fight

While a video of Jake Paul appearing to be knocked out during a sparring session has become popular on social media, the situation may not be exactly as it seems.

The footage, now widely shared on X (previously referred to as Twitter), captures a blond man sporting the distinctive haircut and beard of ‘The Problem Child’ as he engages in a sparring session with another individual. The person believed to be Paul can be seen getting caught with a spinning backhanded punch, causing him to stumble and narrowly avoid being knocked down.

Upon first glance, one could easily mistake the person for Paul. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the person getting knocked out is not the 9-1 professional boxer. The video, allegedly from Russia, is actually from 2022 and shows a fake Jake Paul getting rocked.

At 27 years old, the individual is currently preparing for their upcoming match against former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, scheduled for July 20. While their boxing records may seem vastly different, those expecting a one-sided fight from either opponent may be surprised.

In the past, Paul has consistently shown his capability to knock out his opponents within the boxing ring, achieving this feat in six out of his nine victories. As a strong puncher, he is currently focused on defeating Tyson and fulfilling his ultimate goal of facing the lineal super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez.

Despite the polarizing nature of the fight, both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, have offered differing opinions. While Fury sees the bout as “fantastic for boxing”, Hearn has labeled it a “freak show”.

There are worries surrounding the fight primarily due to the significant age difference of 30 years between the two contenders. There are concerns that Tyson may be at risk of sustaining severe injuries during the match.

Despite concerns about Tyson’s health, his trainer Rafael Cordeiro assures that the 57-year-old is in excellent condition for their upcoming fight, which will make history as the first to be broadcasted live on Netflix.
