Jamie Carragher claims Arsenal and Man City will be “confident” of Liverpool slip up

Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal and Man City fans may have faith in Liverpool dropping points in their upcoming matches against Manchester United and Everton, as the Premier League title race continues.

Currently, Liverpool hold the top spot in the Premier League, leading Arsenal by two points while Man City trails behind in third place by one point.

According to Carragher, even though Jurgen Klopp’s team has control heading into the final eight games of the season, there are two specific fixtures that could potentially trip up Liverpool during the run-in.

“According to his article for The Telegraph, the two most difficult stadiums for a Liverpool player in world football are Old Trafford and Goodison Park.”

Both journeys are directed towards Jurgen Klopp and will heavily impact the outcome of his final season at Anfield, potentially resulting in another league championship. Achieving 90 points could secure the title, requiring six victories and two draws to clinch it for Liverpool.

“Both Arsenal and City are likely to view Liverpool’s remaining fixtures with optimism, hoping that their fiercest rivals will once again cause them to stumble. Neither team is concerned about Manchester United or Everton not putting in their best effort to prevent Klopp’s team from securing the top spot.”

Since taking over as Liverpool’s manager, Klopp has played a total of 17 games at both United and Everton’s stadiums. Out of these, he has managed to secure four victories, with two wins at each venue. However, in his 10 appearances at Old Trafford, he has suffered defeat on four occasions.

Following their 3-1 victory over Sheffield United earlier in the week, Liverpool will now travel to Old Trafford to face their fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday, April 7.

Before their visit to Goodison Park to face Everton on Wednesday, April 24, the team has upcoming fixtures against Atalanta in both home and away games for the Europa League quarter-finals, as well as matches against Crystal Palace and Fulham.

If Klopp’s team manages to navigate these fixtures without any major setbacks, they will have just four matches left before they can achieve their goal of giving their manager the perfect farewell by winning the Premier League trophy in May.
