Jang Shin-young Explains Her Decision to Forgive Kang Kyung-jun for Infidelity

Jang Shin-young will feature as a special MC on the show “My Ugly Duckling” on October 13, where she will open up about the challenges she faced in making this significant decision.

As the episode unfolds, she greets the cast warmly, prompting Shin Dong-yeop to comment that the audience will be taken aback by her appearance. Seo Jang-hoon inquires about her choice to appear, acknowledging the intense media scrutiny related to her circumstances.

In December, it came to light that her husband, Kang Kyung-jun, faced allegations of infidelity and was embroiled in a compensation lawsuit. The couple had previously showcased themselves as an ideal family on various programs such as KBS2’s “The Return of Superman” and SBS’s “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2,” rendering the news even more shocking to fans.

Jang Shin-young shared, “I questioned whether it was appropriate for me to appear now, which affected my confidence. I regret displaying a less-than-perfect image when I intended to present a better version of myself.”

During the initial hearing of the lawsuit in July, Kang Kyung-jun’s attorney disclosed that they had conceded to the opposing party’s claims, which implies a potential admission of his infidelity. The lawyer stated, “Kang Kyung-jun expressed that he could no longer bear the distress being caused to the opposing party, his family, and those observing the situation. Hence, respecting his wishes, we decided to wrap up the lawsuit by accepting the claims made by the other party.”

After a period of silence, Jang Shin-young took to social media in August to outline her position, saying, “I had numerous discussions with my husband. I have engaged in self-reflection and endured painful phases, but I’ve resolved to reconcile for the sake of our children,” signaling her willingness to forgive Kang Kyung-jun.
