A is being accused of defaming a total of twelve individuals, comprised of seven celebrities from the entertainment and influencer industries. The allegations claim that A intentionally shared harmful videos about these individuals a total of 23 times on their personal YouTube channel, known as “Sojang”. Additionally, it is reported that A uploaded videos on “Sojang”that targeted the physical appearances of five other individuals, totaling 19 times.

False information was spread in a distributed manner, such as rumors that “Jang Won-young was jealous and sabotaged the debut of another trainee”or that “other celebrities were involved in prostitution and plastic surgery”, with the intention of tarnishing the reputation of these public figures.

The prosecution investigated the “Sojang”account and discovered that A had made 250 million won in the span of two years starting in June 2021. Notably, A had also used a portion of the earnings from the YouTube channel to buy real estate.

Last December, the prosecution took control of the cases of three victims, including Jang Won-young, from the police and carried out additional investigations. In the previous month, they received additional complaints from five more victims. Despite making two requests for arrest warrants for A in February and April, the court denied both of them.

A stated that their videos were solely for the purpose of expressing their personal opinions. However, during a search of A’s residence, the prosecution discovered multiple videos featuring various celebrities on the laptop A used for video editing. It was also determined that A attempted to conceal evidence by deleting their YouTube channel.
