During the episode, Jang Wonyoung elaborated on her optimistic mindset by discussing the so-called “Lucky Vicki” phenomenon. She reflected on her upbringing, stating, “I’ve always been an optimistic person. Negative situations never overwhelmed me; instead, I’ve consistently focused on the possibilities ahead.” This mindset defined her approach to both challenges and opportunities.

Wonyoung recounted a memorable experience during an overseas tour: “While waiting at a renowned bakery, I missed my chance to buy fresh bread just before they sold out. However, I was informed that more would be available shortly, which led me to nickname myself ‘Lucky Vicky.’ This little moment soon became a viral meme that captivated many.”

The Power of Thoughts and Words

Wonyoung emphasized the significant impact that thoughts and words can have on one’s life. “I truly believe that our thoughts and expressions carry energy,” she explained. “Whenever negative or anxious feelings arise, I consciously redirect my thinking toward the positive. I have rooted myself in this constructive mindset, which I call my ‘Wonyoung-like thinking’ because it has kept me on the right path, filled with gratitude.”

A Twist of Fate: Jang Wonyoung’s Debut Story

Sharing her journey into the spotlight, Jang Wonyoung revealed that she originally dreamed of becoming a news anchor. However, everything changed at her sister’s graduation when she was scouted. “It felt like destiny since the agent who discovered me left the company just three days later. Despite the entertainment industry being small where paths can cross, I have never encountered that person again. It’s remarkable how fate works,” she reflected.

Coping with External Pressures

Wonyoung candidly addressed how she navigates the pressures of public scrutiny and malicious comments. “For me, happiness is paramount, but this industry comes with its own set of challenges that I sometimes find difficult to hear. The external pressures are the hardest aspect of my reality,” she shared. To combat these feelings, she reinforces her belief that she is the protagonist of her own story. “Living proactively alleviates these stresses,” she affirmed.

Furthermore, she pointed out, “People often judge me based on just a few moments of footage, without truly understanding who I am. Thankfully, I believe that every pain has its compensation and that this too shall pass.”

Reflections on Turning Twenty

As she approaches her twenties, Jang Wonyoung expressed, “Entering my twenties hasn’t drastically altered my life perspective, but the flow of time feels more palpable now. What I cherish most about this decade is the increased significance of my words.” Looking toward 2025, she added, “I hope to maintain composure amid life’s fluctuations, prioritizing my health and inner peace.”
