Japanese YouTuber Creates Playing Card Launcher That Cuts Cucumbers in Half

A Japanese YouTuber has taken the internet by storm with an innovative invention: a launcher designed specifically to propel playing cards with astonishing precision, capable of slicing cucumbers in half.

While using playing cards as a weapon is often associated with comic book heroes and antagonists, this YouTuber has transformed the concept into reality with a creative twist. On February 4, Totsuka Toys, a popular Japanese YouTuber, showcased their remarkable creation in a viral video.

Inspired by colleagues who were entertaining themselves by tossing cards at targets, Totsuka Toys realized that their own attempts were far from successful. Rather than improving their throwing skills, they decided to construct an advanced launcher that eliminated the need for practice altogether, leading to the development of this extraordinary “weapon.”

Unveiling the Viral Card Launcher

After engaging in a series of experiments and refining their design, Totsuka Toys meticulously calculated the mechanics that would ensure the cards launched with pinpoint accuracy. With an adept aim, the YouTuber started by toppling Coke cans using the card projectiles before moving on to the real test: the cucumber.

The result was astounding; when the cards were fired, they cleanly penetrated the cucumber. Totsuka Toys explained that the trajectory of the cards altered mid-flight, which was key to the successful slicing. In a subsequent trial, by adjusting the launch angle, Totsuka achieved an impressive feat: the card neatly sliced the cucumber into two perfect halves.

“Perfect. It’s cut into beautiful chunks, ” Totsuka remarked, reflecting on the success of their creation.

The captivating footage of this ingenious launcher quickly gained traction on social media, particularly on platform X, racking up over 21 million views. Enthusiastic fans expressed their admiration and inquired about purchasing similar devices.

Fortunately for aspiring creators, Totsuka Toys offers the specifications and necessary details for individuals to 3D print their very own card launchers, along with comprehensive assembly instructions.

This phenomenon of viral 3D-printed projects is not new; earlier in 2023, another YouTuber, Ivan Miranda, astonished audiences by constructing a life-size replica of himself using a massive 3D printer.
