During the MBC show Radio Star on the 11th, Jay Park discussed the widely circulated topic of the kiss mark that had garnered significant attention.
Jay Park noted his busy schedule filled with various business ventures while prioritizing his artist activities this year. He stated, “I’ve been undertaking numerous challenges. The most notable ones that made headlines were ‘TAXI BLUR’ and ‘McNasty’ with Natty.” Jay Park had previously attracted attention for leveraging ‘OnlyFans’ as a promotional tool for his work.
He elaborated, “Including collaborations, I’ve released 400 songs over the past 16 years. The longer you stay in this industry, the more challenging it becomes to promote because audiences become accustomed to your style. I realized I needed to utilize a platform that fit the concept of the song.”
He added, “It’s indeed a subscription-based platform, but many misunderstood its purpose. I simply used that concept, and the feedback was positive.” When Chae Jung-an inquired, “Was the kiss mark the deciding factor?” Jay Park responded, “That was my manager’s idea. I attempted to use my hand, but it didn’t work out, so I had to go with it.”
Furthermore, Jay Park has been a recurring figure at Waterbomb festivals. He commented, “Although it seems to originate from American culture, the sexy image leads fans to throw a lot of underwear at me.” He continued, “In the U.S., people spontaneously remove them, whereas my fans appear to buy them intentionally.”
Humorously, Jay Park remarked, “There are numerous people with better physiques than mine,” which caught attention. Additionally, Yoo Se-yoon shared his experience performing in this year’s Waterbomb lineup, drawing interest. Park Hae-jun also recounted his own invitation to Waterbomb.
Park Hae-jun mentioned, “I performed as ‘Tae Yang In,’ an impersonator of Taeyang, and received an official invitation to perform. Although four of us were involved, we only had five minutes on stage. The staff repeatedly reminded us not to exceed that time limit,” which elicited laughter from the audience.
Jay Park also created a buzz recently by appearing without tattoos as “Pure Jay Park.” He explained, “The music video director requested a tattoo-free appearance, so I spent three hours covering them up,” which sparked interest. He revealed that his first tattoo was inked in 2010, saying, “It’s AOM behind my ear, representative of my B-boying crew,” which drew attention once more.
